WOODY FRAGRANCES

Woody Fragrances ARE A Speaking Tree… Fragrances That Breath…

WOODY ODOURS ARE COMPLEX

BASE NOTE FOR ALMOST EVERY PERFUMERY COMPOUND

WOODY NOTE

Woody fragrances are characterized by aromatic or citrus head notes. In the heart you would typically find crisp, dry woody notes and dominant resin or wood are found in the base notes. The fresh, natural, earthy scent of these fragrances will remind you of a walk through a forest of aromatic plants and trees. The trees produce a remarkable colour palette of russets, ambers and golds, while the air is filled with their earthy aroma as well as smokey hints from distant wood burning fires. The woodland rules on season every year, which makes it the perfect time to opt for woody fragrance.  KONIKA gives it a spin by adding spices/fruity notes, or herbs to its woody fragrances.

Since our fragrances are so strong, we suggest only using 0.5 to max 4% in any finished product. Our testing notes should never take the place of your own personal testing. Always test fragrance in finished (product) applications.

WOODY NOTE SCIENCE OF PERFORMANCE

As the name suggests, woody fragrances are characterized by notes derived from wood materials such as trees, roots, resins, moss and some leaves that hold earthy qualities. Woody notes tend to be rich and warm, often forming the base of a scent due to their aromatic weight, typically paired with aromatic or citrus top notes. The elemental composition, heating value, density at 20 °C, energy density, flash point, and kinematic viscosity at 40 °C of each woody essential oil were analyzed based on their terpene composition. The major elements in all woody essential oils investigated in this study were carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen. The woody essential oils were composed of more than 80% carbon and less than 10% oxygen due to the presence of terpene derivatives (terpene alcohols and terpene acetates).
